No Trespassing

Text: Joel 2:25-29 “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm- my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed. And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”

1. Lost/Destroyed

  • Exodus 10:4-5 “For if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country, and they shall cover the face of the land, so that no one can see the land. And they shall eat what is left to you after the hail, and they shall eat every tree of yours that grows in the field.”
  • John 10:10-11 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

2. Stolen

  • Have you ever had something stolen from you? How did that make you feel?
  • What has the enemy stolen from you?
  • John 8:44-45 “…He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.”

3. Given Up

  • Proverbs 12:18 “The word of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
  • Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
  • Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
  • Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
  • 2 Chronicles 15:7 “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”
  • Psalm 31:24 “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”
  • 1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
